Fair
question, that^.
This is my
four-hundred-and fortieth post.
Despite the
shrinking blogosphere, and the fact that (other than make-up and erotica themed
blogs) blogs don’t sell what we make, I have continued my weekly Tuesday
morning posts.
Why?
Because I still
like doing it. I hope to always do things in life with this guiding light.
Sure, sometimes we have to do somethings we don’t like.
Did I write “sometimes?”
^
I meant you could
count on having to do things you don’t like but must do anyway. That’s a given.
But may the
day never come when I stop doing something I like because it isn’t awash in likes
from others.
Turns out, I
like meeting you who visit here. Hope you come again.

I've been blogging for 10 years. My readership has dropped off quite a bit, but I don't care. I lost the ability to make money with my blog (long story), but I don't care. I do it because it's something I do for myself. My daughter happens to love my blog. She spent one summer reading every single post. How cool is that?
Mirka, I've been at it for 12 years and even when people said blogging was dead, I continue because I enjoy it. It's wonderful to have a place to share our thoughts without having to go through the rigorous publication process that's trade pub.
I adore your blog, We are: Clamco. Anyone with a taste for original folk art, love of cats, dogs, home-improvement and just plain can-do-- should check your blog out.
It is fun, isn't it, Vijaya? Best reason for doing things.
Well put, Mirka. There's something to be said for doing things that bring us joy for the sake of it.
I agree. There's all this pressure to be on social media for writers, but blogging is the only social media I truly enjoy. I think it's my introvert tendencies. I'd rather have a long conversation over coffee with one dear friend than attend a cocktail party (i.e. Twitter or Facebook) any day. I really enjoy your blog, Mirka. You always have an interesting perspective on things.
In that case, Jenni, this one's for you <3
I don't blog, but I'm glad there are those of you who do. And I'm glad you enjoy blogging. Life should be full of more joyous things.
I don't understand why blogging is not more popular among writers and readers. We can put down entire paragraphs of thought, and on some sites they are easily accessed by date or subject.
