CAT WISDOM

The French sociological positivist Hippolyte Taine said it perfectly:

“I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.”

I have nothing to add because adding, in this context, would amount to the idiocy of the philosophers. Thus, I’ll let the cats do some of the talking—
And—
And finally, to prove the point—
Did you pet yours today?

  2. Oh, I just love cats...but my husband is deathly allergic. We somehow ended up with a dog who thinks she's a cat--does that count? Definitely agree about the "wisdom of cats." They are a superior breed of being!

    1. You're right about feline perfection. I refer to mine as "self-cleaning pets." Can they be more perfect that that?

  3. Cats remind us not to take ourselves too seriously. They keep us humble. That last picture was a belly laugh.

  4. Aw! Love kitties! They are so smart. And Becky, my husband was also allergic to cats but when we got married I had a cat and he got used to him ...

  5. My cat looks down on all humans--and animals for that matter.

  6. I love kitties, but we don't have one. I'm glad you have two, Mirka.

    1. Three, actually. I'd have more, but I'd have to move out of our small house...

  7. I love that third picture! I'm a dog person these days since I inherited my daughters' hounds from hell, but someday I will have a kitty...after the hounds go to heaven.

  8. I'm definitely a cat person, too. My two cats have passed on. The first believed she was more graceful and classier than humans, and she would not oblige us if she didn't want to. Of course, she had her endearing and quirky moments as well. The second one lost the functions of her legs and was put up at a caretaker's place. She was sweet-natured and never once made me feel I was her maid.

  9. My dog is terrified of cats (despite weighing 65 pounds) - she's easily intimidated, I guess. Love that last pic.
