“I
think in terms of the day’s resolutions, not the years’.”
Henry
Moore
Because it took me a few years to realize
how unhelpful New Year’s resolutions were for me, I thought I’d express my gratitude
to any and all who happen to read this post by sharing Henry Moore’s
hard-earned wisdom.
It’s so tempting, though, to make a
resolution to mark the end of something, and the beginning of something else.
Because others have said it better, I will sign with yet another quotation. It
will have to be my only New Year’s resolution, so as to not betray the first
quotation.
“Come,
gentlemen, I hope we shall drink down all unkindness.”
William
Shakespeare
Cheers!

ReplyDeleteI love these quotes!
Ah, each day well lived counts. They all add up. Happy New Year, Mirka. Wishing you all the blessings and graces you need.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Mirka! I love your quotes, and your philosophy. Day by day is definitely more "doable" than year by year. = )
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Mirka! I'm not a resolution person, either. I prefer goals, and I think each seasonal change is a good time to set them.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I don't do resolutions because everytime I did them I didn't menage to do them:) So I prefer decive day by day:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great 2014, Mirka (one-good-day-at-a-time kind)! I like that Henry Moore quote.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes. I am not a resolutions person either. Maybe that's too "big picture" for me. I'm much more of a day at a time kind of girl.
